Sensory Bins
Terms & Conditions
These Sensory Bins Terms & Conditions apply to Sensory Bins services provided by Norivan Kids Entertainment (“Norivan”) and apply in addition to the Norivan Kids Entertainment General Terms & Conditions.
By confirming a Sensory Bin booking with Norivan, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Sensory Bins Terms & Conditions and the Norivan Kids Entertainment General Terms & Conditions.
1. Access, Parking & Setup Area
Access: The Client must provide clear access to the setup area before Norivan’s arrival.
Parking: The Client must provide suitable parking for the Norivan team. Any parking fees, access fees, loading fees, or venue charges are the responsibility of the Client.
Setup Area: The Client must provide a safe, clean, dry, and suitable area for the sensory play setup.
Indoor or Shaded Area: A shaded outdoor area or suitable indoor space is recommended, especially during hot weather.
Space Requirements: The setup area must allow enough space for children to move safely around the sensory bins, rugs, tables, and play materials.
2. Public Spaces, Permits & Venue Permissions
Public Areas: Norivan does not usually provide sensory play setups in public areas, including parks, beaches, plazas, streets, or other open public spaces, due to safety, access, insurance, equipment, materials, cleaning, and local regulation considerations.
Public Space Requests: A permit from the local Ayuntamiento may only authorise the event itself and does not automatically include permission to bring or set up sensory bins, rugs, tables, chairs, toys, loose parts, props, materials, decorations, cushions, mats, or activity setups in that public space.
Client Responsibility: The Client is responsible for ensuring that any permit, venue permission, public space authorisation, or event approval specifically allows all service elements required for the booking.
Service Requirements: Norivan can only provide the service if the permitted setup matches the requirements of the selected service and can be carried out safely and appropriately.
Liability for Fines: Any fines, penalties, event stoppages, legal consequences, or cancellation caused by missing permits, incomplete permissions, venue restrictions, public space restrictions, or lack of official authorisation are the full responsibility of the Client.
No Refund for Missing Permissions: If authorities or venue management stop the event due to missing permissions, incomplete permissions, restricted setup approval, or missing documentation, no refund will be issued.
3. Service Models
Drop-Off Service: For drop-off bookings, Norivan delivers and sets up the sensory play area. Once the setup is complete, the Client becomes responsible for supervising the children, keeping the play within the designated area, and ensuring that all materials and equipment are used correctly.
Supervised Service: For supervised bookings, Norivan staff remain on-site to gently support the play experience, manage materials, and help keep the activity area organised.
Adult Presence: Even when Norivan supervision is booked, at least one parent, guardian, or responsible adult must remain present and available throughout the event.
Role of Norivan Staff: Norivan staff support the sensory play experience, but they are not childcare providers or babysitters.
4. Supervision & Child Safety
Adult Supervision: Constant adult supervision is required at all times, especially for children under 3 years old or children who may put materials in their mouth.
Age Suitability: Sensory play may include small parts and loose materials and is not suitable for unsupervised play by children under 3.
Small Parts: Some sensory bins may contain small parts, loose parts, scoops, tools, or decorative materials that may present a choking hazard if misused.
Mouthing Materials: Children who are still mouthing objects must be closely supervised by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
Child-Led Play: Adults should allow children to explore freely and only intervene when needed for safety, hygiene, or appropriate use of materials.
Right to Pause or Stop: Norivan reserves the right to pause or stop the activity if children’s behaviour, guest conduct, venue conditions, or safety concerns create a risk.
5. Materials, Allergies, Hygiene & Non-Edible Items
Non-Edible: Sensory materials are for play only and must not be eaten, tasted, chewed, or placed in the mouth.
Food-Grade Does Not Mean Edible: Some materials may be food-grade or non-toxic, but they are still intended for play and not for consumption.
Allergies: The Client must inform Norivan at least 7 days before the event of any known allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions that may be relevant to the sensory materials.
Examples of Allergies: This may include allergies or sensitivities to gluten, legumes, rice, corn, dyes, fragrances, latex, or other materials.
Hygiene & Illness: Children who are unwell, have fever, vomiting, contagious illness, open wounds, or infectious skin conditions should not use the sensory materials.
Allergic Reactions: Norivan is not responsible for allergic reactions, skin sensitivity, irritation, illness transmission, or other reactions unless caused directly by proven negligence by Norivan.
6. Clean Play Zone, Food Restrictions & Tidy-Up
Clean Play Zone: The sensory play area must remain a food-free and drink-free zone.
No Food or Drinks: Food, drinks, sweets, ice cream, chewing gum, sticky snacks, fruit, sauces, coloured drinks, or staining items are not permitted inside or near the sensory play area.
Staining Items: Items such as strawberries, berries, chocolate, juice, sauces, ice cream, coloured sweets, or similar products may permanently stain rugs, fabrics, cushions, bins, toys, or play materials.
Client Responsibility: The Client is responsible for ensuring that guests, children, parents, and venue staff keep food and drinks away from the sensory play area.
Norivan Tidy-Up: At the end of the session, Norivan will tidy and clean the immediate play area, including Norivan rugs, bins, tables, and the floor surface directly under the setup where possible.
Travelling Materials: Sensory materials may naturally travel on socks, clothing, hands, or shoes. Cleaning beyond the immediate play area remains the responsibility of the Client.
Damage or Staining: If food, drinks, staining items, sticky substances, intentional scattering, or misuse causes damage, permanent staining, excessive cleaning needs, or replacement of Norivan equipment, the Client will be responsible for cleaning, repair, or replacement costs.
7. Refundable Damage Deposit
Drop-Off Deposit: For drop-off or self-supervised sensory play bookings, a refundable damage deposit equal to 50% of the total service fee may be required in addition to the booking balance.
Purpose of Deposit: This deposit is held as security against damage, misuse, negligence, food or drink contamination, staining, excessive cleaning, missing materials, or failure to follow the safety and care rules.
Return of Deposit: The deposit will be returned after collection if the sensory bins, rugs, tables, tools, toys, materials, and equipment are returned in good condition.
Deductions: If damage, staining, excessive dirt, contamination, misuse, or missing materials are found, Norivan may retain all or part of the deposit. Small parts, tools, toys, themed materials, loose parts, and other sensory play items must remain within the sensory play area and be returned at the end of the session. If repair, cleaning, replacement, or missing item costs exceed the deposit amount, the Client remains responsible for the full cost.
Supervised Service: When Norivan supervision is booked, the refundable damage deposit may be reduced or waived at Norivan’s discretion.
8. Weather & Outdoor Events
Outdoor Setup: For outdoor events, the Client must provide a safe, shaded, dry, and suitable setup area.
Wind & Weather: Sensory play materials may be affected by wind, rain, humidity, or extreme heat.
Unsafe Conditions: Norivan reserves the right to refuse or stop setup if weather conditions may compromise the safety of children, staff, materials, or equipment.
Indoor Alternative: If weather conditions make the outdoor setup unsuitable, the activity may be moved indoors if a suitable indoor space is available.
No Suitable Alternative: If no suitable alternative space is available, Norivan will discuss possible rescheduling options where possible, subject to availability.
9. Damage & Liability
Equipment Damage: The Client is responsible for any damage to Norivan equipment caused by guests, children, adults, venue staff, pets, or third parties during the booking.
Covered Equipment: This includes sensory bins, tables, rugs, cushions, mats, tools, toys, loose parts, themed materials, decorative elements, and any other equipment provided by Norivan.
Venue or Property Damage: Norivan is not responsible for damage to furniture, flooring, walls, upholstery, rugs, curtains, clothing, personal belongings, gardens, pools, terraces, or venue property unless caused directly by proven negligence by Norivan.
Norivan Responsibility: Norivan will take reasonable care to provide a safe and professionally prepared sensory play experience.
Client Responsibility: Norivan is not liable for injuries, accidents, allergic reactions, property damage, losses, or distress caused by failure to follow safety instructions, lack of adult supervision, children placing materials in their mouth, choking incidents caused by misuse or lack of supervision, unsafe behaviour, throwing or misusing materials, unsuitable venue conditions, food or drinks entering the play area, undisclosed allergies, illness or hygiene issues not caused by Norivan, missing or damaged materials, outdoor conditions, or actions of the Client, guests, venue staff, pets, or third parties.
Legal Limitation: Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.
